Holy Child Church, Whitehall

The Church of the Holy Child, was a chapel of Ease in the parish of Glasnevin in 1942. In 1944 it became a parish Church. At that time it was the "tin church" located on the green in Larkhill. It had been moved from Home Farm Road where it served the people of Corpus Christi. On Sunday 1st December 1957 the Archbishop of Dublin, the late Dr. McQuaid, blessed the new Church

In 1957 the newly-built Church of the Holy Child was described as: "A church of impressive dimensions . . . accommodation for a congregation of 1,750. Built in brick with granite dressings, it cost over £170,000". The new Parish Centre which is attached to the building cost over €1.7million!
